Indigo Bananas: Perfect Night (for mystery & horror)

I saw Indigo Bananas, Perfect Night (for mystery & horror) swatched by Polish Hound, and The Mercurial Magpie, and fell in love with it. Well... let's be honest, I pretty much fall in love with any purple polish!

Perfect Night (for mystery & horror) is a rich purple jelly polish with blue green color shifting flakies. I did 3 coats (formula was smooth and flawless), and one coat of KB Shimmer Clearly On Top topcoat.

And here it is with one coat of NYC Matte Me Crazy Topcoat:

I also picked up two mini cuticle balms, in Coffee, and Eucalyptus. I have a bad addiction with these balms. I own about 8 different scents now. (I also love that they double as a lip balm!) I love how they moisturize, and I like that when it absorbs it dries with a powdery touch. (The coffee scent reminds me more of a mocha coffee. It's very similar to the cocoa scent that was discontinued, that I loved!)

Oooh, When I received these cuticle balms, Andrea had them professionally sealed with plastic now! I love watching indie polish shops grow and evolve!  :)

KB Shimmer: Leaf of Faith

I saw KB Shimmer's Leaf of Faith on The Mercurial Magpies blog, and immediately needed it. :-p It's a gorgeous deep red cranberry jelly polish filled with red, gold, orange, and holographic glitters. It looks like fall in a bottle!

This is is three coats, plus two coats of KB Shimmer Clearly on Top to smooth everything out. (I still think Seche Vite dries a bit faster, than Clearly on Top, but they are both great topcoats).

Emily de Molly- Tread Lightly

Cait from Polish Hound is an enabler. :-p Because as soon as I saw her post about Emily de Molly, Tread Lightly. I had to go hunting online for it. None of the U.S. stockists had it. (Emily de Molly doesn't ship directly to the USA). I took a chance and ordered it from Mei Mei Signatures for the first time. They are located in Singapore, but it only took 2 weeks to receive my order.

This is 2 coats, plus Seche Vite Topcoat. I did a thin coat of polish, then I did a thicker coat, dabbed on a few of the bigger circles, and topped it off with topcoat. These sort of glitter polishes require a topcoat, or else you will end up with a very bumpy mess. (I probably should have paid better attention to the tips of my nails when applying this, it wasn't smooth enough, and I had some shrinkage with the Seche Vite.)

And here it is with NYC Matte Me Crazy Topcoat. (Always use regular topcoat, before the matte topcoat, so the polish will have a smooth finish).

As always, Emily de Molly hits it out of the ballpark! I absolutely adore her nail polishes. I'm also lucky enough to own Cosmic Forces, and Oceanic Forces.

LynB Designs: Wish Granting Factory.

*I used a blogger discount to purchase.

Wish Granting Factory is from LynB Desgins new 'The Fault in our Stars' Collection. (If you haven't read the book, you need to read it!)

This color is so fall appropriate, I love it! It has a mauve wine colored base, with gold shimmer, and holographic gold glitter. (For some reason it also reminds me of a peanut butter & jelly sandwich haha! I think Painted Nubbs said the same thing when she reviewed it.) Formula has a nice consistency, not runny at all. Two coats and opaque. I used KB Shimmer Clearly on Top, fast dry topcoat. Would really love to do some fall stamping over this color sometime. (I just ordered some holiday stamping plates from Bundle Monster!)

(Just realized, this color is sort of similar to Zoya Faye. But much sparklier!)

Chaos & Crocodiles: Secret Agent Coll. + Operation Vegas

Whoo hoo! I have been wanting this collection for so so long. The last time there was a restock, I sat with the page ready until the store went live- refreshed- add to cart... sold out... WTF? I was pissed! (Okay, there may have also been some crying involved, lol!) So, I am very glad Sarey from Chaos & Crocodiles decided to do a pre-order instead, because of the demand. This was my splurge to myself- belated birthday gift. I pre-ordered this at the end of August.

I ordered the 'Secret Agent Collection', and
the limited edition 'Operation Vegas'.
Please click below to see more. Very picture heavy post!

Nires Desire: Jezebel & Anam Cara.

I actually picked up these polishes quite a few months ago. Bad me... they were in my untrieds pile. Nire's Desire, Jezebel and Anam Cara.

Anam Cara, is a bright purple (sometimes blurple), with green shimmer. Opaque in two coats. Really nice smooth formula. Accent nail is stamped with Konad White, and Born Pretty Store stamp plate: QA76. Seche Vite topcoat.

Jezebel is a deep reddish pink, holographic polish. This is pretty much a one coater formula, though you can do two coats if you want. Applies very smoothly. Accent nail is stamped with Konad White, and Born Pretty Store stamp plate: QA76. I used Seche Vite topcoat.

Polish Me Silly: Paradise

I have a HUGE weakness for anything multi chrome. I saw a photo of 'Paradise' on Polish Me Silly's Instagram... and I needed it. :) (My wallet hates Instagram!)

Paradise was a limited edition color from Polish Me Silly's new Mega Multichrome Collection. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing it in stock at their Etsy shop, and I'm not sure if it will be re-stocked. So please don't hurt me for sharing this gorgeous color with all of you! :-p

Paradise shifts from Purple, Pink, Blue, Aqua, Red, Yellow. Ack... I love it! The color shift is really strong too. In normal light you mostly see the Pink, Purple, Aqua. No undies needed for this polish either. 3 coats and you are good to go. I used Seche Vite topcoat.

Literary Lacquers: Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster

I've been in love with Literary Lacquers Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster (that's a tongue twister, huh?), ever since I saw The Mercurial Magpie swatch it last year. It's been on my lemming list for awhile, and I finally got around to purchasing it.

Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is a gorgeous turquoise green linear holographic polish, with little holographic glitters, that make it look like it's twinkling. This is 2 coats, plus Seche Vite. Formula was nice and thin, applies smoothly, and dries pretty fast too.

Do you know what really it reminds me of though? Something from my childhood! Anyone remember the sparkling star shaped Colgate Junior toothpaste?! I always wondered how the heck that toothpaste sparkled! :-p

ILNP: Masquerade (H)

I picked up two colors from ILNP new fall collection. Masquerade (H), and Champagne Blush. (I'll show Champagne Blush another day). I've wanted the original Masquerade for awhile, but I never got around to picking it up. So I was really happy when ILNP released a holographic version with their fall collection.

Masquerade (H) is a multi chrome. It changes from Green, Pink, Red, Copper... so many pretty colors! This is 2 coats, plus Seche Vite topcoat.

My Favorite Indie Shops!

I thought I would share with you all, some of my favorite indie shops to buy nail polish from. These are shops I have own two or more nail polishes from, who I would purchase from again, and also have fabulous customer service.

Indie polishes are more unique, because of the fact they are made in such small batches. There's often limited editions. There's better quality control, and better quality over ingredients used in products, compared to a larger company. Plus you are supporting an independent small businesses when you purchase an indie polish!

1. ILNP Boutique

Really unique duo chromes, and vibrant holographics. Birefringence is my #1 favorite nail polish hands down from this shop. I always get plenty of compliments when I wear it. Also Barbra is a sweetheart and interacts often with her fans. Their customer service is awesome too, I once checked out with the wrong polish and they corrected it right away for me.

2. Painted Polish

Lexi's Drunk on Holo is another one of my all time favorite polishes. I've used it in countless manicures. Lot's of unique crelly and jelly polishes, and blinged out glitter polish. Lexi's packaging is always adorable too, little custom bags for the polish with her logo, she sometimes throws in nail decals or nail studs. She's also really interactive with her fans on Facebook and Instagram.

3. Indigo Bananas

Andrea comes up with the most unique finishes. Her duo chromes always have a soft finish to them. Her flakie jellies are out of this world (and I need to buy them!) Gorgeous holographics, and her cuticle balm is the bomb. I'm actually really addicted to her cuticle balms, and I like that she carries it in full size and mini's (as well as her polishes). She often tucks some interesting foreign Japanese, Chinese candies into your packages which is a fun touch!

4. Ellagee Polish

Whoo! Any lady that thinks of putting dolphin glitter, or penguin glitter into polish is freaking amazing! And Laura definitely is. She has really unique glitter jelly polishes, and holographics, and she recently stocked her shop with mini nail polish bottles keychains that you can fill with different custom charms! (Need!) My two favorite polishes from her are Life is de Bubbles and Dolphins of the Caribbean!

5. KB Shimmer

I recently got addicted to KB Shimmer last year. The fact that she also sells homemade soaps, scrubs, lotions, etc doesn't help. I am addicted to homemade soaps. One of my favorites is her relaxation soap, which has a nice musky scent like a man's really nice cologne, but light enough that it can be unisex. I also love the sugar scrub in that scent, and Lilac! The lilac sugar scrub is amazing! And don't get me started on the cuticle oil pens! Last time I made sure to buy two of the lemongrass cuticle pens. Her customer service is also fantastic, I was accidentally sent the wrong item once, and they responded the same day and mailed the correct item out. Her polishes are gorgeous too, love the crellies, and holo's!

6. Ice Polish

Erin has fantastic holographic polishes, with a great formula too. I just recently tried her polish, and I love it! Especially Jafar (berry holo), and Maleficent which is a gorgeous duo chrome.

7. Nire's Desire

Another Erin- and if you didn't notice her store's name is 'Erin' flipped backwards. ;-) Nire's Desire has some really gorgeous cream shimmers, and duo chromes, and holographics. I own Anam Cara and Jezebel. They are one coaters and have a really unique shimmer to them.

So those are some of my favorite indies! What are some of your favorites? I'd love to hear in the comments!
