Ice Polish: Jasmine & Jafar.

✯ PR Sample ✯

Today I have some holographic pretties from Ice Polish to share with all of you. Erin is coming out with the  'Dreams Come True... Not If I Can Help It' collection. It will be made up of 6 duo's representing Disney princesses & villains. The collection will be out June 30th. I was sent Jasmine & Jafar (from Aladdin) to review!

I was in my kitchen when I opened the package, and my kitchen lights really show off holo's, so I literally went "Wow!!! Ooooh!" when I saw these gorgeous holo's. I have a huge weakness holographic nail polish. :-)

First up is.... Jasmine! Since Jasmine is a princess after all, I thought the addition of some rhinestones would be perfect. (Sally Hansen). Jasmine is a light aqua or sea foam linear holographic polish, it's very reminiscent of Princess Jasmine's outfit. I used three thin coats and it went on smoothly and dried pretty quickly too. I topped it off with Seche Vite. It's stunning in the sun!

(Who else wanted to BE Princess Jasmine growing up?)

(Sun)

(Natural light shade)

And... the evil villain Jafar! Jafar is... wow, wow, wow! It's a purplish/magenta berry colored linear holo, but what makes it interesting, is there are also little bits of gold shimmer mixed throughout. It's hard to see the gold shimmer in the sun, but it really shows up in person in the shade. I also did three thin coats, plus Seche Vite topcoat. Application was the same as the first polish. I thought some holographic studs would look nice with this color. :-)

(Sun)

(Natural light shade).

Blogging Break Over!

✯ PR Samples Mentioned ✯

If you haven't guessed, my little blogging break is over. ;-) It was nice to chill out and take a break. Not worry about scheduling posts, getting things swatched every weekend. I noticed by taking a break, my creativity for nail polish came back. Since I was usually only creating one look to wear for the entire week, I was able to better plan out my designs and put more thought into them.

I love blogging about nail polish and I love doing reviews, but I'm no longer going to push myself to get several posts up a week. It was draining me out and I was starting to become frustrated with blogging. Instead I'm going to blog when I want. If I only get one post up a week, so be it. If I get on a stretch of posting a few times a week, so be that. I want blogging to be fun for me, and I want to be excited about sharing things with you all.

I have a few reviews coming up. Look for a review of two stunning polishes by Ice Polish and another review of Winstonia Store nail strips!

Today I wanted to share with you some of the looks I created while on break. Some of these were taken with my regular camera and others are cell phone photos.

Zoya Wendy with Zoya Jesy, and Winstonia stamp plate W-04.

Orly Glowstick with Painted Polish Drunk on Holo, Messy Mansion stamp plate MM12.

KB Shimmer In Bare Form, (Nude Holographic) with ILNP Admire Me, and Winstonia Store stamp W108

ILNP Purple Plasma, Painted Polish Drunk on Holo, with Emily de Molly stamp EDM03.

The Mermaid's Song (win a bottle!)

A year ago I started reading The Mercurial Magpie, after Kirby commented on one of my blog posts. I've watched her blog grow and change over the past year into something amazing. I've also enjoyed getting to know Kirby, who is one of my good blogging friends. I've enjoyed seeing pictures of her dog Mugen, and discussing the little quirks of our Filipino significant others, talking about blogging ups & downs, (our love for CG fairy dust), and we both have a wicked sense of sarcastic humor, lol!

The Mercurial Magpie blog is turning 1 year this month! Kirby will be having a huge giveaway including some amazing custom nail polishes based on her blog, that she had created by several indie makers. I was sent a bottle of The Mermaid's Song that she had created by Painted Sabotage. Kirby has a great love for mermaids that is perfectly captured in this polish. It's a stunning aqua green, with holographic shimmer, holographic circles and plenty of pretty gold, purple, green, silver glitters.

I used 3 coats for the photos below, plus Seche Vite topcoat. This is the first time I've tried a Painted Sabotage polish and the formula was great to work with, and evens out nicely. I also decided to forgo the usual bottle pose shot, in favor of these pretty "mermaid" beads- I'll call them! ;-)

I also tried it with a matte topcoat, and I adore the way it looks! (For best results I always use a regular topcoat to smooth things out, and then I use the matte topcoat).

Make sure to check out The Mercurial Magpie this Monday, Kirby will be getting things started with a huge giveaway! You could win a bottle of The Mermaid's Song, among many other awesome prizes!

The Mermaid's Song is also available for sale in the Painted Sabotage shop!

Nie-cy Polish Review!

✯ PR Sample ✯

Today I have 3 pretty spring colors from Nie-cy Polish to share with you today! I was sent Pace Mates, You are my Lady, and Le'le girl.

Le'le girl: a pretty pastel pink. It reminds me of ballet slippers. Even though it's such a light color application was no issue. Formula is quite nice, not runny at all. I used 3 coats, plus topcoat. Personally- you could probably even use 1 coat of this if you wanted a nice sheer nail color. I used Messy Mansion stamp plate MM18.

You are my Lady: Nice light green color. I thought it leaned towards aqua in the bottle, but it's more green on my nails. Again, application was great- I used 3 coats, plus topcoat. I used Emily De Molly stamp plate EDM04, and topped it with a bit of China Glaze Fairy dust on my accent nails.

Pace Matesis a bright colorful yellow. I ended up using 4 coats with this one, it was a bit streaky, but no other issues. I used Emily De Molly stamp plate, EDM05. I stamped with Rimmel 60 seconds- Hot Chili Pepper.

You can also Find Nie-cy Polish on Facebook!

Ellagee & Nail Pattern Boldness Reviews.

I recently purchased Ellagee Life is de Bubbles! It's a pretty blue jelly with pink blue circle glitters and holographic dolphins. I love it! I used 3 coats for the photo below and a thick coat of Seche Vite topcoat to even everything out. The dolphin glitters were quite plentiful in my bottle, every time I pulled the brush up they were clinging to the brush so I didn't have any issues getting them out. Now I'm eyeing Dolphins of the Caribbean next... ;-)

I also picked up something that has changed my life when it comes to removing glitter polishes. Nail Pattern Boldness (I always want to type baldness!), Glitter-A-Peel. I first read about it on The Mercurial Magpie.

What does it do?  It allows you to remove glitter polish instantly with no mess. You paint two (thickish) coats of Glitter-A-Peel and let it dry. Then paint your normal glitter bomb nail polishes over it, plus topcoat. Glitter-A-Peel will only last 2 days tops before pieces start popping off on their own. But since I change my polish often no issues there. I wore the dolphin polish above for two days straight, until I woke up with my pointer finger naked, it must of popped off when I was sleeping! To remove the rest of the polish, I used a wooden cuticle stick to loosen the polish a bit from the side and then I just peeled the rest off. It comes off in one piece. No more scrubbing you nails with acetone!

Failed Easter Mani- but you get the idea of how easy Glitter-A-Peel removes once you've loosened the edge with your finger or a wooden cuticle stick.

KBShimmer Polishes!

I recently picked up a few of KB Shimmer polishes and a sugar scrub.

When I got my order I was accidentally sent the wrong polish at first. (When The Doves Sigh was missing). I contacted KB Shimmer's customer service and got a reply back immediately saying they were so sorry for the mix up. They sent the correct polish out and I got it within 3 days. They definitely have amazing customer service!

I got the Relaxation sugar scrub. I really love the scent of this one. It's got a spicy musky cologne scent. It's really nice. I use it on my hands in between swatching to moisturize and exfoliate. (I ordered the soap in this scent the other night, can't wait to try it).

This is The Grape Beyond, a really pretty purple matte with blue shimmer. It's hard to see the blue shimmer when it's matte, but you can when you use a topcoat- (though not so much in my photo below, you can see it more in person). I used 3 coats here.

And then I decided to stamp over it with my Emily de Molly plate EDM05 & Sally Hansen Lively Lilac. Loved this combo!

I've been wanting When The Doves Sigh for the longest time. It's a gray crelly with different glitters. A topcoat is a must with these types of polishes or else you'll look like you have bumpy concrete on your nails. A topcoat brings out all the beautiful glitters and smooths everything out. Love this polish! I used 3 coats.

And yes... I forgot to swatch Would You Jubilee It. I plan to swatch it in another post when my next KB Shimmer order arrives. I ordered Laugh Myself Lily and some other goodies!

Oh and here's a sneak peek at some ILNP Boutique polishes I picked up. Will share these soon! Cutie Pop, Charmingly Purple, Music Box & My Private Rainbow.

Instagram Nails!

I have not scheduled any other posts this week... I know... I'm a bad blogger. I ended up spraining my middle finger the weekend before, and it's still bothering me. I have plenty of pictures taken, I just haven't gotten around to editing them.

Look... I'm a Cyborg...

There's also been a lot going on personally besides my finger... I had a co-worker pass away on the 28th (I worked with her for 6 years), my Mom is healing from kidney stone surgery, my cousin had a carbon monoxide scare at her job, my grandmother is in the hospital in ICU and is not doing well. And some other little personal issues, so I'm just feeling a bit burnt out. Could use your well wishes & prayers.

I do have super awesome pictures of all these mani's from my real camera, when I get around to editing them... but I thought I'd share them in their natural light Instagram shots for now. You can follow me on Instagram at @tunaynamahal82

I am wearing this mani this week! It's 2 coats of Royals by Bsquared Lacquer. Which is a blurple jelly with holo glitter, and I stamped with Emily De Molly plate EDM03. This plate is too awesome! I love it! I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Silver Sweep to stamp the design.

Another week I wore KB Shimmer The Grape Beyond, stamped with Sally Hansen Lively Lilac with EDM plate EDM05

And some pretty spring nails with Above The Curve: Peeps, Love, & Happiness. Stamped with EDM05, Konad white.

P.S. Here's the real camera version of the first photo!

Enchanted Polish: Feb 2014.

I was so excited I was able to grab an Enchanted Polish during the February pre-order! I have to admit though, I was a bit nervous because it was a mystery color and EP is not cheap. Luckily February 2014 turned out to be a very pretty mauve berry colored holographic polish.

This is my very 1st Enchanted Polish so I don't know if this is the norm for them, but I found the formula very thick. So thick that when I would try to swipe it on my nail it would drag and clump before it reached my nail tip. I ended up getting so frustrated I added thinner to my bottle so it would apply better. It's a stunning color but if all EP formulas are like that, I don't think I want to pay $15 a bottle for them...

I decided to put one coat of Indigo Bananas 2% Butterscotch Ripple over my Enchanted Polish... it was so much prettier in person! Really awesome combo!
