St. Patricks Day with Zoya Dillon!

I hope everyone has a Happy St. Patrick's Day tomorrow. I did some festive nails with Zoya Dillon (press sample) from the Awaken collection, China Glaze Fairy Dust, Cult Nails Feedback & Maybelline Bold Gold. I used Winstonia Store 1st Gen stamp plate: W105 for the shamrocks and rainbow.

I also made my first stamp decals! I made them on parchment paper after checking out a few youtube tutorials. I used Konad white and two Sally Hansen Insta-Dri colors to fill in the rainbow decals wit a nail art brush. Then after I peeled them off the parchment paper I cut it down to size and put the decal on my nail with Seche Vite topcoat over it.

P.S. Tunay Na Mahal was featured on The Mercurial Magpie today!

Dutch Windmill Nails.

✯ Press Samples Mentioned ✯

I couldn't resist playing with my new Winstonia Store 2nd generation stamp plates tonight. When I saw plate W218, the windmills immediately reminded me of my Mom in Law. She loves collecting anything with windmills. So I decided to do Dutch windmill china nails.

I started with a base of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Whirlwind White. Then I stamped with Cult Nails in Wack Slacks, then 1 coat of Seche Vite topcoat before I used the NYC Matte About You topcoat (press sample). I smudged the one flower stamp a little, but I still love how they turned out.

P.S. I got an OttLite! There's a been a lot of discussion about them in the Hobby Polish Bloggers group I am a member of on Facebook. The Mercurial Magpie posted a coupon code for this OttLite at Jo-Ann's so I had to order one. Can't beat that sale price either?!

(The free shipping code is: SHJP2012)

This is my setup for taking photos. I have my lightbox on my dining room table when I use it. I'm still using one of the clamp lamps as well as the OttLite. The OttLite definitely gives off a more natural light than the CFL bulbs I use. The nail photo above was taken using the OttLite tonight. Depending on what kind of lighting I need,  I sometimes use one or two clamp lights on the sides of my light tent.

Cult Nails: All Access Collection- Fall 2013

I won my very first nail polish giveaway a few weeks ago! I won the Cult Nails Fall 2013 collection from Imperfectly Painted blog. I've been reading Imperfectly Painted since 2011. I started to really get into nail polish back in December 2010, after a back injury that left me on bed rest for a full week. I had nothing better to do but look at nail polish blogs and paint my own nails, and search for pretty polish on eBay, lol. These are my very first Cult Nails polishes.

Wack Slacks, Disillusion, Feedback, Grunge, Lamestain.

Wack Slacks is a really gorgeous blue. I don't own any other blue that looks like it. It's a true one coater! I only did 1 coat, plus 1 coat of Seche Vite topcoat. My accent nail has Feedback which is a gold shredded glitter.

I really love Disillusion. It's a black jelly with pink magenta shredded glitter. It's really unique. I did 3 coats of Disillusion and 2 coats of Seche Vite.

Grunge is a sage green. Perfect fall or winter color. It reminds me a little bit of Zoya Neely, but Grunge is much much darker. I think they have the same color tones. I used 2 coats and 1 coat of Seche Vite, Feedback on my ring finger.

Lamestain is a deep ox blood red. I don't own any color like this. It's definitely a great fall or even Halloween color. My camera wants to pick the color up as brown though. :-p

P.S. I am selling my ILNP My Little Glacier on eBay if anyone is interested. The color is just not my cup of tea. It was used once and only swatched on 4 nails.
