Wet 'n Wild: Happy Hour Hop

I'm working through my untried polishes slowly. Happy Hour Hop from Wet 'n Wild was a limited edition Halloween color being sold at Walgreens. I first saw Happy Hour Hop on Be Happy and Buy Polish. It's such a pretty and unique color I had to have it.

Happy Hour Hop is even a little reminiscent of Zoya Daul. Though Daul has a deeper purple base. The base in Happy Hour Hop is a more vibrant purple, and there's more gold glass fleck throughout. This is two coats, plus Seche Vite topcoat. I love the wide brush on the Megalast polishes too. It's easy to work with.

I also tried it out with NYC Matte Me Crazy Topcoat
(Best matte topcoat I've used!)

As it turns out, 'Happy Hour Hop' is not as limited edition as you might think, *wink*. Wet 'n Wild released this same color in the past under the name 'Amethyst Rock'. And Spoiled which is a CVS exclusive brand, and owned by Wet 'n Wild has this exact shade in their permanent line under the name 'Are Mermaids Real?'. Being aware of that might help you track down this color better if you're looking to buy it.

I do apologize in advance if things have been a bit quiet around here. My husband and I came down with a head cold, that's been lingering for the past two weeks. We even had to postpone our Thanksgiving dinner, until maybe this coming week. I've got a whole folder of pretty nail polish photos to edit here and there for this blog, it's just slow going. :-\

I also was excited to learn I won the Rescue Beauty Lounge + Refinery 29 giveaway on Facebook a few weeks ago! They were giving away 25 sets of their new collaborative collection. I still haven't gotten to try any of these pretties out, but I keep admiring them in the bottle. I've always wanted to try Rescue Beauty Lounge nail polish. So look for swatches of these in a future blog post!

Don't forget to enter my current giveaway to win a $10 e-certificate to The Born Pretty Store. Giveaway ends Monday!

Wet n' Wild Polishes & Mega Last Lipcolor.

✯ PR Sample ✯

Wet n' Wild was nice enough to send me 8 of their nail colors and two of their Mega Last lip colors to share with you all today! You can find Wet n' Wild products for sale at major retailers, drugstores and grocery stores. There is also a nifty store locator on their website here.

(All photos below use Seche Vite fast dry topcoat).

Wet n' Wild Mega Last: I Need A Refresh-Mint. Gorgeous aqua cream. (I have a weakness for the color aqua!) The brush on this is quite wide, I could pretty much cover my entire nail in just stroke. Formula was really nice, and shiny on it's own even without a topcoat. I only needed two coats.

Mega Rocks: Gettin' Amped, really fun black white and silver circle glitters. You get enough glitters in one go, though I did two coats for the photos. The clear base isn't goopy or sticky but you do get a bit of it on your brush so you really need to swipe it across your nail in thin strokes.

Wild Shine: Sparked is your basic pink glitter bomb. It has tiny pink and silver glitter. You get a lot of glitter just from one stroke, though I did 2 coats for the photo below, over I Need A Refresh-Mint, a nice spring combo!

Wet n' Wild Mega Last: I Red A Good Book. When I saw this color I said, "Oh... just another red". But... wow! It's a bright jelly like red, I love it! Same awesome wide brush, covers your nail in one stroke. I used two coats. Formula is perfect and dries with a shiny finish. I will definitely be purchasing a few more of the Mega Last line myself, now that I know how awesome the formula is.

Mega Rocks: Stick It To The Man, a glitter filled with blue, silver circle glitter and copper square glitter. Application was the same as Gettin' Amped.

Fergie: Ferguson Crest Syrah, has a deep almost black base with magenta & gold metallic shimmer. It looked more interesting in the bottle, it's very very dark on the nail. Topcoat definitely helped the sparkle to show a little more. The polish has a nice wide brush that covers your nail in one stroke. I only needed two coats. Formula was perfect.

Fergie: Gold Album, is a metallic gold. This polish also has a nice wide brush that covers your nail in one stroke. I used two coats for the photos below, plus topcoat. Formula was perfect. Though not the best gold, for my skin tone. (I'll have to test and see if it stamps well).

Wild Shine: Rain Check is a pretty dusky light blue shimmer. I thought it would be too sheer, but it's not. You can get it opaque in just 2 coats, though I used 3 coats for the photos. It's shows brush strokes a little but the formula was nice.

Last but not least, the Mega Last Lip Color's in Doll House Pink & Stoplight Red. I'm not a very good "makeup" blogger, as it's an area I'm not totally confident in. When I wear lip color it's usually a lipsmacker or sheer shiny lip gloss. And... to be honest, no one wants to see these on my winter chapped and bitten lips. :-p

Kisses!  :-p

Stay Tuned!

✯ PR Samples Mentioned ✯

I received some press samples from Wet n' Wild last Wednesday! :-) I took a swatching break this past weekend because my swatching hand was in need of some TLC, but stay tuned because these pretties will be on the blog next week!

I also hit Autty's blog sale a bit hard, lol. She's one of my dear blogging friends and it's not often you have a chance to shop your friends nail polish collection! I picked up 8 colors. I look forward to sharing these colors in the coming months here on the blog with everyone.

 The Loot!

 Zoya: Chyna, Tinsley.
Orly: Oui, Ingenue, Charged Up.
China Glaze: No Plain Jane, Hanging in the Balance, Creative Fantasy.

I don't post on my youtube account very often. (and it was never set up with my blog's name), but occasionally I do post stuff there. I uploaded a cell phone video of how I store my nail polish collection, all 274. And as you can see in the video below, plastic Chinese takeout containers come in handy for organizing. ;-)
