Stay Tuned!

✯ PR Samples Mentioned ✯

I received some press samples from Wet n' Wild last Wednesday! :-) I took a swatching break this past weekend because my swatching hand was in need of some TLC, but stay tuned because these pretties will be on the blog next week!

I also hit Autty's blog sale a bit hard, lol. She's one of my dear blogging friends and it's not often you have a chance to shop your friends nail polish collection! I picked up 8 colors. I look forward to sharing these colors in the coming months here on the blog with everyone.

 The Loot!

 Zoya: Chyna, Tinsley.
Orly: Oui, Ingenue, Charged Up.
China Glaze: No Plain Jane, Hanging in the Balance, Creative Fantasy.

I don't post on my youtube account very often. (and it was never set up with my blog's name), but occasionally I do post stuff there. I uploaded a cell phone video of how I store my nail polish collection, all 274. And as you can see in the video below, plastic Chinese takeout containers come in handy for organizing. ;-)

St. Patricks Day with Zoya Dillon!

I hope everyone has a Happy St. Patrick's Day tomorrow. I did some festive nails with Zoya Dillon (press sample) from the Awaken collection, China Glaze Fairy Dust, Cult Nails Feedback & Maybelline Bold Gold. I used Winstonia Store 1st Gen stamp plate: W105 for the shamrocks and rainbow.

I also made my first stamp decals! I made them on parchment paper after checking out a few youtube tutorials. I used Konad white and two Sally Hansen Insta-Dri colors to fill in the rainbow decals wit a nail art brush. Then after I peeled them off the parchment paper I cut it down to size and put the decal on my nail with Seche Vite topcoat over it.

P.S. Tunay Na Mahal was featured on The Mercurial Magpie today!

China Glaze: Seahorsin' Around

I picked up China Glaze Seahorsin' Around this past Friday at Sally Beauty. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. Seahorsin' Around is part of the new Sea Goddess CollectionThis polish is absolutely stunning in person. It's a blue green texture polish with sparkly micro shimmer. I did two coats for the photos below. This is the 1st China Glaze texture polish I've tried and it's a bit grittier than the Zoya Pixie Dusts.

What do you think of Seahorsin' Around?

P.S. You know you are a nail polish blogger when you require a gallon of acetone, lol! I picked up a gallon while I was at Sally Beauty to refill my smaller bottle.

China Glaze: Ruby Pumps

Back in the early 2000's my cousin Chrissy & I were shopping at Ulta. I came across China Glaze Ruby Pumps. This gorgeous sparkly red polish. I had never heard of the brand China Glaze. I didn't buy much nail polish back then, because I bit my nails and I would only paint my toes red or hot pink in the summer. By the time I got into nail polish in late 2010, Ruby Pumps had long ago dried up... :-(

I finally got around to buying another bottle of Ruby Pumps on eBay. I'm so glad to be able to own this polish again, and I'm happy China Glaze still makes it. It's a gorgeous bright red, with red glitter that almost glows. I used two coats and one coat of Seche Vite topcoat.

Here's a comparison of Ruby Pumps & Zoya Sarah. Ruby Pumps is a darker red with bigger pieces of glitter. Zoya Sarah leans toward a blue based red with smaller glitter.

Fairy Nails with Zoya Rue.

✯ PR Samples Mentioned ✯

When I saw Winstonia Store 2nd generation plate W208 it made me think of the "Zoya Fairies" who help create all the gorgeous Zoya nail polish colors. So of course I had to use a Zoya nail polish to help create this look.

I used two coats of Zoya Rue (press sample) from the Naturel's collection. Then one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust (perfect for fairy nails right?) I stamped with Konad special white polish and used 1 coat of Seche Vite topcoat.

Today is the last day of my Holiday Designs!

These ones were probably my favorite out of all four designs. I used I Love Nail Polish: Absolute Zero, (limited edition polish), with one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust. Then I stamped using Konad Special Polish in White, with Winstonia Store stamp plate W120. One coat of Seche Vite dry fast topcoat. They are so sparkly. I just love them!

Cherry Culture Sale Haul!

A few weeks ago Cherry Culture had a sale. 20% off your order and free shipping over $40. This was the first time I ordered from Cherry Culture. I picked up an extra birthday gift for my mom and ordered myself 4 of the L.A. Girl Ombre Kits for $5.99 each. You get 5 mini polishes in each kit.

I'll have swatches of these soon. I have a bad slice on my thumb right now. I'm waiting for it to heal, so I can show all 5 colors on my nails when I take photos.

 Girl's Night Out

 Love Affair

 Spring Fling

Midnite

I was also able to get 3 China Glazes colors I've been wanting forever. They were $3.99 each. Strawberry Fields, I'm not Lion, Riveting.

And last but not least, I ordered 2 Jordana Sweet N' Smooth lip balms. I've seen these reviewed on Confessions of  Sarcastic Mom and I've always wanted to try them. I got Watermelon & Cherry. I've tried them both and they taste really good and make your lips super smooth.

This last one wasn't from Cherry Culture. My husband & I went to Wegman's Grocery last night for a splurge shopping trip and I got these two Badger Balm products down the organic aisle. I got Lime Rocket lip balm & I also decided to get the cuticle care to carry in my purse. It smells like oranges & rosemary. (Mandarin oil is one of the ingredients).

Heart Gradient Nails & Books I'm Reading.

I have not been to work since September 30th. October 1st is when the Government Shutdown started... so I have had a lot of time to paint my nails and read some books.

I did a gradient tonight with some light pink striper polish, OPI Suzi's Hungary Again and 1 coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust over the pink. I stamped with Winstonia Store plate W102 & Konad Black. 1 coat of Seche Vite topcoat.

These are the books I've read lately. I'm big on history, biographies, memoirs or historical fiction. I do read some regular fiction too. The books below, some I've purchased, some I've taken out from our local e-library and others I've gotten free on Amazon. (I do use Amazon Associates, but not because I've made any money- because I haven't! lol! But I like that I can show a picture/link with a product when I'm blogging. Plus I do recommend Amazon.com for their low prices. That or Ebay!)
