Introducing... Ruby!
So last Thursday evening we brought a little girl rattie home, who we named Ruby. :)
She has a little mask because she's in mid coat change. I'm thinking she is Cinnamon. Her markings are Berkshire. We think she around 3 months old, not older than 4 months. She still has those translucent baby teeth.

Strawberry Margarita Nails, & A Giveaway! [Closed]

The Born Pretty Store was kind enough to send me some more nail art items to review. Today I will be reviewing 20 Pcs Mini Colorful Fresh Fruit: #7
I started with 3 coats of China Glaze Strawberry Fields, plus Seche Vite Topcoat. I stuck my Strawberry Fimo pieces on while the topcoat was still wet. My nail tips are Ellagee Crushed Garnet glitter. I think if I were to redo these, I would use a pink cream, and silver glitter to make them a little less busy, haha! :-p My prop drink is pink lemonade.

My new addiction: Bumblesoaps

I have a bad, bad addiction to bath products; Lush, L'Occitane, Fortune Cookie Soap, Pig & The Peacock, KB Shimmer, and now... Bumblesoaps! My cousin had raved to me how awesome the whipped soaps are from Bumblesoaps, and how great the customer service is. And, Jennifer from Peer Pressure Polish had also mentioned to me how awesome Bumblesoaps is. (Check her blog out, she has some Bumble reviews up too). I placed my first order a few weeks ago, (which *ahem* may have quickly been followed by a second order).

Bumblesoaps, also stole my heart forever. They recently came out with the scent Hedonic Tonic, (a dupe, if not a better dupe- for Polyjuice Potion from Fortune Cookie Soap. It's much sweeter and fruitier). I love this scent! The body butter is lightly scented, while the lotion bar is more concentrated.

I picked up PolishM: Lady Liberty a few months ago, it is one of my untried nail polishes. Lady Liberty is a minty green (almost a Tiffany Blue), with gold glitter. I used 2 coats of Lady Liberty, plus Seche Vite topcoat for my manicure. Formula is great! The Born Pretty Store was kind enough to send me some more nail art items to review! Today I will be reviewing the Happy Cat Pink Heart Pattern #K061, water decals.
I used two coats of Zoya Yuna and Rue, plus Seche Vite Topcoat. Once everything was dry I cut out the decals I was going to use and dipped them in water. These water decals sort of apply like temporary tattoos.
The only thing that threw me off when applying is that the design is backwards. Usually you press the decal immediately onto your nail after dipping it in the water, but when I did that the cat was backwards it just looked completely white. So, what I had to do was dip the decal in water- slide it off onto one of my fingers to flip it around, and then place it on my nail. I patted it dry gently with a napkin, and applied more topcoat. They weren't hard to apply, it only took a few minutes, I think they turned out quite cute! :-)
I think the little cat is adorable! :-)

Pets are just as bad as children... (UPDATED)
So, end of September my girl Toffee (who is about 14 months old), started getting a mammary tumor under her right leg. (Tumors are common in females rats). Usually it is my older or elderly females who get mammary tumors, and they are usually too old to be put through the stress of surgery. Usually it's just a quality of life decision I have to make. But, Toffee is youngish, very energetic, and active. She is only the 2nd female I've owned who got a tumor quite young. So we made the decision to have the tumor removed by my vet. (Which was $400 altogether). If we didn't get it removed, it would just keep growing and getting larger.

Today I have some Halloween nails featuring Zoya Matte Velvet, Savita & Loredana. (The little pumpkin, I picked up at Wegmans grocery store last Halloween).
I started with 2 coats of Zoya Savita, and then dabbed on Loredana with a sponge. I stamped with Sally Hansen Insta-dri in Silver Sweep. I also dabbed on a little of China Glaze Golden Enchantment, and topped everything off with NYC Matte Me Crazy topcoat. The stamping plates I used for these nails are Bundle Monster: BMH07, and Winstonia Store W116, and W221.

Painted Polish: #PSL
Pumpkin Everything!!! I was so excited to see Painted Polish come out with a polish named after everyone's favorite Fall drink. #PSL, AKA Pumpkin Spice Latte! I have to say, I think this is my 2nd favorite after Drunk on Holo! #PSL is jam packed full of gold, copper, orange, holographic glitter.
I started with 2 coats of OPI Vant To Bite My Neck?, then I dabbed on Painted Polish #PSL with a sponge to get the gradient effect. My accent nail is 2 coats of Zoya Taylor, stamped with Zoya Chanelle, and Bundle Monster BM023. Then I also stamped over that with Konad Black and BM413. Pinky is the same plate, with Konad White, topped off with ILNP My Private Rainbow, and Seche Vite topcoat.
I originally did these skull nails, because my husband & I were going to go visit the Mutter Museum on Wednesday, but unfortunately it was windy and pouring rain, (not so good for walking around downtown outside), so we will have to go another day. I've already been there a few times, but I wanted to go back. :)
And my thumbs, which you guys never usually see because I keep them super short for typing on touch screens- is stamped with Konad white and Born Pretty Store plate, QA5. Topped off with ILNP My Private Rainbow, and Seche Vite topcoat.

Indigo Bananas: Perfect Night (for mystery & horror)
I saw Indigo Bananas, Perfect Night (for mystery & horror) swatched by Polish Hound, and The Mercurial Magpie, and fell in love with it. Well... let's be honest, I pretty much fall in love with any purple polish!
Perfect Night (for mystery & horror) is a rich purple jelly polish with blue green color shifting flakies. I did 3 coats (formula was smooth and flawless), and one coat of KB Shimmer Clearly On Top topcoat.
I also picked up two mini cuticle balms, in Coffee, and Eucalyptus. I have a bad addiction with these balms. I own about 8 different scents now. (I also love that they double as a lip balm!) I love how they moisturize, and I like that when it absorbs it dries with a powdery touch. (The coffee scent reminds me more of a mocha coffee. It's very similar to the cocoa scent that was discontinued, that I loved!)
Oooh, When I received these cuticle balms, Andrea had them professionally sealed with plastic now! I love watching indie polish shops grow and evolve! :)
